Resoconto finale

In quest'ultimo post scrivo in Italiano. Il Blog,come si intuisce facilmente, era dedicato alle auto e in particolare era collegato a un libro di Luigi Barzini: "La metà del mondo vista da un automobile - da Pechino a Parigi in 60 giorni".  

Barzini,con i principe Scipione Borghese e il meccanico Ettore, compie un'impresa storica, superando molti ostacoli tra i quali irti pendii e strade strette per una automobile. L'automobile,ovviamente, è una pietra miliare della storia della tecnologia: grazie ad essa i collegamenti tra città sono rapidi e non faticosi. Sicuramente essa ha cambiato il modo di vivere e la società. l

Il progresso e la paura di esso lo vede con i propri occhi Barzini quando scopre che i cinesi hanno paura delle automobili o di altro nuovo mezzo, etichettandolo come una macchina diabolica (The fear of Chi-cho ). Sicuramente la Cina non era un paese adatto alla tecnologia e all'evoluzione della società,condizione che oggi è totalmente diversa: infatti essa è uno dei paesi più in crescita,anche in questo periodo di recessione mondiale.

The incoming in Paris

Our protagonists are in Liegi: people receive Barzini,Ettore and Scipione Borghese with a sentiment of glee and they show this with the act to sign the car. 

In the morning Barzini and the rest of troop go away Liegi for reaching Paris. 338 km. Through Mosa,Fumay,Rocroy,Rethel,Marna and finally Paris!

" Parigi è a trenta chilometri.

E' a venti.

E' a dieci.

Per tutti saluti,applausi,sventolio di fazzoletti. Borghese sorride; non più con il suo abituale enigmatico sorriso di cerimonia, ma con un sorriso spontaneo. Il suo freddo e mirabile controllo su se stesso non è buono a reprimere la contentezza che è in lui, e che si apre la via in quel sorriso. I villaggi si succedono senza interruzione. Cominciano ad essere veri sobborghi di Parigi. Molta gente che aspetta ci guarda con aria interrogativa, come per chiederci: "siete voi?"- non sapendo quale, fra tante, sia la vettura del principe. La maggioranza conclude che non è certo quella avanti a tutte, così disadorna. E sono i nostri compagni di viaggio, i colleghi della seconda vettura, che spesso sono fatti segno alle clamorose dimostrazioni della folla. A Bry una grossa popolana aspetta sulla via con un enorme mazzo di fiori, e, prese bene le sue misure, lo lancia conscienziosamente sul petto dell'eminente collega Enrico Des Houx gridandogli: A vous, Monseigneur!"

"All'automobile da corsa" by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti

This is a wonderful poem written by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti in 1908,Paris. It was printed only in 1921 with the title "Lussuria-velocità". In this we can find the futurist sentiment of the poet,who is the most important exponent of the italian futurist movement. So the poetry expresses an exaltation of the progress, that in this case is represented by the car.

                                                        Veemente dio d'una razza d'acciaio,

Automobile ebbrrra di spazio!,

che scalpiti e frrremi d'angoscia

rodendo il morso con striduli denti...

Formidabile mostro giapponese,

dagli occhi di fucina,

nutrito di fiamma .

e d'olì minerali,

avido d'orizzonti e di prede siderali...

io scateno il tuo cuore che tonfa diabolicamente,

Chinese and the fear of the... Chi-cho!

When Barzini arrived in China he noted a kind of suspicion and fear by Chinese about the car. In fact in China this "enemy" is called "Chi-cho", or rather "Carro a combustibile". The chi-cho is the consequence of an other fear of this common: the train,called "Huo-cho" in China. It's interesting to note how other culture initially doesn't accept the evolution and the progress of technology. The raid continues..!

10 June 1907. Borghese,Barzini,Guizzardi,the princess Anna Maria and Don Livio Borghese left from Beijing. At the start there weren't also a Contal(6 Hp), two De Dion-Bouton(10 Hp) and a Spyker(15 Hp).

Now an original passage from the book:

"Una elegante signora, Mme Boissonnas, moglie del primo segretario della Legazione francese, assume con graia l'incarico di starter. Essa solleva la bandiera. Segue un istante di silenzio nella moltitudine, durante il quale non si ode che la voce dei motori. Il fumo a tratti ci circonda e ci isola. La bandiera si abbassa. Friends, now i want to talk about one of my idols and examples of life: the legend, Ayrton Senna! 19 years ago he lost the life during the San Marino gran prix on the Autodromo "Enzo e Dino Ferrari". Now I want to celebrate this figure with a video. Good vision!

Art and car 2

Today i want to talk about a film that marked my life when i saw it. The Italian title is "Adrenalina blu" while the orginal title is "Michel Vaillant". It talks about the French comic created by French cartoonist Jean Graton. I advise the vision to who loves the 24H hours of Le Mans ,my favourite race. Scipione Borghese

He was born in Migliarino (Ferrara) in 1871. He is important for us trip in the world of cars because he is the protagonist of the book and the hero of this story. 

However , he was famous for a long journey in Asia from Beirut to the Pacific Ocean. Also he was a policitan, in fact he was a deputy of the "Partito Radicale" in the Italian Parlament of 1904 to 1913 and he fought in the First World War. Finally he began the reclamation of "Agro Romano".

Something about the book

A challenge of French journal "Le matin", a impossible venture: in a car, for 15.000 kilometers, from Beijing to Paris. 

Luigi Barzini, journalist of the italian journal "Corriere della Sera", joins at this historical event with the prince Scipione Borghese and the mechanic Ettore Guizzardi. On 10 June 1907 they started from Beijing and after 60 days they crossed the finish line with their "Itala", the real star of the journey. 

Leonardo da Vinci's car

We know that the date of birth of cars is the 19th century with Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz. 

However some inventor built a prototype of a car. One of these is Leonardo da Vinci. He built a car with three wheels and it was designed for the noblesse of his time. It moved by a little couple of springs. Now in Florence we can say a new copy of this great invention in the museum of the history of the science.

In this blog I want to talk about some kinds of art too, obviously in the area of cars. 

I decided to begin with music and precisely with my favourite band, the Queen! I choose "I'm in love with my car", piece of the album "A night at the opera",1975,of the English band. The song was written and sung by Roger Taylor,the drummer, and it  is dedicated to his huge passion for the cars.

However in this week I'll begin to introduce the book of Barzini with a first report. Good listening and stay tuned!

The wagon,the first car

The birth of cars hasn't a precise and absolute day because a same conception there are always been in the human mind. Ancient civilization gave attention to the mobility of goods or people. In these years we can find the wagon: his structure is similar to the car's structure: four wheels,an engine ( in this case is a animal)and a driver.

Now the car is a vehicle with a endothermic engine that consumes petrol and so on but it's important start with the study of first and simple inventions of human in this scope.
 The starting point is the wagon.
